Basically, you can pre-order everything on the app as you would in a physical Starbucks store. Previously, you had to be registered to the Starbucks reward scheme to do this but now the app has opened to all customers. Instead of waiting for 15 minutes for your Coffee Cake or Peppermint Mocha, you can order on the app and pick up your order from the nearest Starbucks location. One of the best parts about the order process on the app is the customization of orders. Instead of going to packed stores and yelling out orders you can customize your order on the app and everything will be just as you ordered when you pick up.
The App Has Gotten Better Since Its Initial Release
Initially, while the app was being rolled out it took a little too long for customers to get orders due to confusion or just a lack of the app updating as appropriate. These backend issues seem to have been solved as it now takes less than 5 minutes average to pick up most orders. Instead of having a barista call out your name repeatedly when your order is ready, the app now alerts you when your order is ready. It seems like Starbucks is tying up every loose end, with employees assigned to handle issues such as drink pick-ups. You can also access and collect all your rewards right from the app.
Simple to Use & Well Designed
Starbucks has refined this app over the years and it looks and feels beautiful. Everything is quite intuitive, with a focus on making customizable orders. The sleek green Starbucks colors stand out and the menus are clearly defined, allowing you to order quickly. If certain items are out of stock, the app will alert you.
Starbucks is probably one of the best mobile pre-order apps out there for one main reason: it’s been built with the customer in mind.
